When Ellen and Zach got in contact with me and told me about the wedding weekend they had planned for their closest friends and family, I was so excited to hear more about it. Their weekend started off with going to the New York City court house and becoming officially married. On Friday evening they planned a dinner boat cruise around the city where out of town guests could take in the sights from the Hudson River. On Saturday morning they invited guests to a breakfast at The Ace Hotel before they set off for the day exploring the city. To end their celebration, they invited guests on Saturday night to The Nomad Hotel for a gorgeous rooftop dinner.
When discussing their design vision with me, they wanted something chic and sophisticated, just as they envisioned their weekend. We decided on a timeless letterpress design for their save the dates and wedding suite with a fun pop of color through the floral print envelopes and liners. Their save the dates were printed double sided, with the front having their names and weekend date and the back having more details on the events.
For their wedding suite we went with different tones of paper to add an interesting visual touch. I loved that they went for mismatched color envelopes and even did envelope liners for their RSVP envelopes! A fun unexpected element in their suite was blind letterpress borders and fun icons on their detail card and boat cruise invitation.
I also designed other pieces for them as well, that all tied back into their stationery design. For their boat cruise I designed custom napkins and drink koozies. For their rooftop dinner I custom designed matchboxes, drink stirrers, napkins and cute little envelopes for their gift to their guests. Out of town guests were given a welcome box in their hotel room, which I designed tags and a details card complete with a fun map of where the events were that weekend.
Take a look below at their wedding weekend! Congrats Ellen and Zach, it was an honor to be part of your beautiful celebration!
